Tang Soo Do Self-Defense One Steps (Ho Sin Sul)

1.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs wrist.
Defense  - Twist wrist towards attacker's thumb
 - Pull out hand
 - Step in
 - Knife Hand Strike to the Attacker's Neck
 

2.

Scenario  - Attacker cross grabs to opposite wrist.
Defense  - Stike attackers hand with palm (palm/knife hand strike)
 - Pull out hand
 - Step in
 - Knife Hand Strike to the Attacker's Neck (with free hand)
 

3.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs shoulder.
Defense  - Swing arm from the inside out (same side as attacker)
 - In, up and around
 - Then across your body
 - Pull up with free hand
 

4.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs front of clothing or neck.
Defense  - Counter grab (using the same hand as attacker)
 - Front kick to the lower leg
 - Turn the attacker's wrist until your knuckles are facing up
 - Then place your opposite hand on top
 - Turn hand into chest and push down
 - Step back away from attacker (your arm should go over their arm)
 - Locking it under your armpit
 - Turn your upper body back towards the attacker
 

5.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs under your belt.
Defense

 - Step forward
 - Placing your hand under the attacker's elbow (same hand as attacker)
 - At the same time, take your opposite hand across your body to attackers throat
 - Pull and Squeeze at the same time
 

6.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs under your belt from behind.
Defense  - Jump
 - Spin around striking with the elbow to the arm of the attacker
 - At the same time, Palm strike to the solar plexus
 

7.

Scenario  - Attacker headlocks from behind
Defense  - Grab attacker's thumb and pull down
 - At the same time raking the face
 - Place attacker's arm (elbow down) across your shoulder  and pull down
 

8.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs both wrists from behind (Police grab)
Defense  - Twist and pull arm down and out (the hand that is on the side of you)
 - Counter grab attacker's hand with the other hand
 - Quickly spin around and out from attacker to blind side
 - Place your free hand on either the attacker's shoulder or elbow
 - Continue to spin attacker so the do no regain balance
 - While pushing attacker's upper body to the ground
 - If the attacker lands face down,
 - Step on and over the back while holding the attacker's arm
 - Keep your foot on attacker's back, while pulling arm diagonally across their back
 

9.

Scenario  - Attacker grabs collar from behind.
Defense  - Take a small step back
 - Swing your inside arm under and over the attacker's arm
 - Pull down and around into your body
 - Deliver an elbow strike to the attacker's spine with opposite arm
 
10. Scenario  - Attacker places you in a side headlock
Defense

 - With your inside arm, deliver an upward ridge hand to the groin from the back
 - then follow up with either a hammer-fist or palm strike with the opposite hand to the front groin
 - Reach over and around to attacker's face grabbing under nose and pulling back.
 - Strike with a knife hand to the throat.
