Parents, these are some guidelines to help you and your child to better understand what is expected of them when
it comes to developing their skills in order to be promoted to the next level.
White:
- For your child's first stripe (white) he or she must respond to a command with "Yes Sir" or "No Sir".
"Yes Ma'am" or "No Ma'am" if instructor is female.
Orange:
- Need to know the name of their instructor:Master Eric King.
- Need to know what Attention Stance is.
- Need to know what Ready Stance is.
Green:
- Need to know the name of the school that they are attending: Art In Motion Karate.
- Be able to count to five in Korean
- Need to know what Fighting Stance is.
- Need to what it is to Ki-hap.
Brown:
- Be able to count to ten in Korean
- Need to know what a "Dobahk" is - Uniform
- Need to know what a "Dee" is - Belt
- Need to what it is to do a Front Kick on a stationary target.
- Need to be able to do a Back Fist.
Red:
- Your child mist know the style of martial arts that we study: Tang Soo Do.
- Must know the first three belt colors in our system: White, Orange and Green
- Must be able to travel with their Front Kick both in the air and on a target.
- Must be able to perform a short Outside Block
Blue:
- Need to know five of the seven belt colors: White, Orange, Green, Brown and Red
- Need to be able to respond to: Attention (Cha Ryut), Ready Stance (Choon Bee Jaseh), Sit (Shio)
- Must perform a Stepping Side Kick and Short High Block
Black:
- Needs to know all Seven Belt Colors: White, Orange, Green, Brown, Red, Blue and Black.
- Must know the meaning of Obedience to Parents.
- Must be able to perform all four Short Basic Blocks.
- Must be able to execute a three count combination (kicks, punches and blocks) of their choice.
